400 WATTS GENERATED BY A SOLAR CAR ROOF?
a2-solar has proven this possibility during the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in 2015.
During the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in 2015, this special solar car roof novelty had been presented at the booth of the AUDI AG as one of the shows major highlights. With this development, a2-solar has managed to outrival again its own bench-mark. With 400 Watts in output and a size of 1940 x 1300mm, it is the biggest, most powerful and most spherically curved solar car roof prototype in the world. (In comparison, a2-solar’s last record reached 270Watts within the rigid solar prototype system integrated into the VOLVO SuperTruck cab already in 2014. With 400 Watts, the solar roof developed for Audi directly feeds the power into the battery and perfectly blends with the vehicle chassis and design.
The automotive industry shows a tremendous pace in designing and advancing green mobility vehicle concepts. Thus, the interest for integrating solar systems into cars, trucks busses and boats has risen as well. With more than 30 years of first-hand expertise in the field of spherically curved "bubble" modules, we have realized already several distinguished prototypes for some of the most renown OEMs on national and international level.
For the car concepts presented by Audi and VW at the IAA 2015, we have designed and manufactured the solar car roof systems.
